Take care of nature and the environment, preserve and contribute to sustainable development

They enjoy traveling to explore, but they have a different motivation than others. They are genuinely concerned with protecting nature and the environment and take an active and leading role in sustainable development. They tend to have an idealistic outlook and often travel to contribute as volunteer tourists.

They are interested in local culture, in getting close to the locals, and they wish to learn something new. They prefer to travel around and to meet new people as they travel. Many of them work as volunteers. They form the target group that, to the greatest extent, wishes to participate in guided tours. This target group is second when it comes to how much they are willing to pay. They seek sustainable alternatives and are willing to pay extra for it. Almost half of this target group is between 45 and 64 years old.

The target groups have a lot in common, but there may be many important differencies, when it comes to basic needs, skills, preferences and personalities. Different people are triggered by different texts, hashtags, photos/films and so on. That is why we have divided them further into different personas:

Leave-no-tracer

These guests may not focus on high standard accommodation or restaurants, but focus more on long stay, payback to the local community, short-traveled & biodynamic food, ecofriendly & public transport, meaningful experiences and "leave-no-trace" in nature.
