Kirkenes, located north east in Northern Norway about 400 km north of the Arctic Circle and further east than Istanbul, known as the capital of the Barents Region and the king crab city in Europe. Kirkenes borders to Russia in the east, Finland in the south, and the Barents Sea in the north. Kirkenes is the turning point of the Hurtigruten coastal steamer, and has daily direct flights to Oslo and Tromsø.
